This helps to prevent or treat mouth infections and gum disease. It also helps to ease your symptoms if you have a mouth ulcer or sore throat. Chlorhexidine prevents sticking of bacteria to the teeth and oral mucosa and causes damage to bacteria by increasing the permeability of bacterial cell walls and changing osmotic balance.
